At the Atlantic-Pacific Tang Soo Do Foundation (APTSD Foundation), we are committed to empowering at-risk youth through martial arts.

One of the most impactful ways we achieve this is through our grant program, which provides essential funding to schools and instructors dedicated to helping young people thrive. We are excited to announce two recent grants awarded to outstanding martial arts programs!

Congratulations to Master (Sister) Navara of Selma Karate, who has been awarded a $3,000 grant. This funding will help cover the expenses of bringing several at-risk youth students to the International Karate Championships in Arlington, Texas, on July 19th.

Master Navara has been a vital force in her community, using martial arts to instill discipline, respect, and self-esteem in her students. This grant will empower her to continue her mission and expand her reach to even more youth.

We also extend our heartfelt congratulations to Bu Sabom Nim Tony Misista of Tiger’s Den Karate in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, who received a $2,000 grant. This funding will assist Bu Sabom Nim Tony Misista in covering travel expenses for his students to attend the championship.

His dedication to using martial arts as a tool for personal growth and leadership development is making a significant difference in the lives of his students.

We want to express our gratitude to all applicants who submitted their proposals for the grants. Your commitment to serving at-risk youth is commendable, and we look forward to supporting more initiatives like these in the future. Together, we can continue to empower young individuals and foster positive change in our communities.

Stay tuned for more updates on our grant program and how we’re making a difference through martial arts!
